Featured Speakers

Speaker: Linda Drassen, HR Sherpa

In addition to holding an Associate's and Bachelor's Degree in Management; a Master's Degree in Management & Human Resources Management; a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification, and the coveted Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) Certification, she is also OSHA 10-hourcertified and has dedicated more than 20 years of her career to human resources in a variety of industries.

While living in Ohio, Linda turned down an opportunity to attend law school, choosing instead to focus on a career in Zoology. Although hand-feeding and caring for baby bears, tigers, opossums, and bald eagles was incredible, it soon occurred to her that her true calling was to provide enrichment through educational and administrative programs that limited (completely) unnecessary risks associated with employment laws and regulations.

Finally deciding on a career inhuman resources, Linda continued to work two (sometimes three) jobs as she attended college full-time. Although the career choice was made - finding a specific industry proved more challenging. Linda wanted to learn everything she possibly could about many industries and gain as much information and training as possible before selecting a single industry to focus on. In addition to other industries, she has held positions in several industries including construction, heavy equipment; law, technology, manufacturing, food processing, local and high-end restaurants, mortgage loan processing, medical, retail, staffing/recruiting & PEO organizations; military & veteran, insurance/risk management firms, and non-profit organizations.

After moving to Texas in 2000, Linda completed her degrees, received her certifications and found her final calling as a human resource consultant – which she describes as “the most rewarding careers of her life.” Her initial human resource consulting position also afforded her the opportunity to learn the insurance and risk mitigation industry and by securing her P&C and Health and Benefits licenses, she was better equipped to further advise and protect her clients.

Throughout her consulting career, Linda has put her rich mixture of experience and education to work protecting employers from unnecessary claims, fines, lawsuits, and other potentially catastrophic penalties. She has successfully assisted clients with mitigating multiple EEO, DOL, and other claims; received several zero-fine audits from ICE, and has been called upon for expert opinions.

Linda thrives on the rapid pace in which laws and regulations change and she credits her accomplishments and successes to a profound and passionate dedication to protecting her clients. She is often heard saying that she never wants her clients to regret reaching out to her for help and she strives to earn and keep that trust.
